Privacy policy (POPIA)

ReverseOsmosisShop.co.za is operated by HALO SOLAR LIGHTS PTY LTD (registration number 2026/662813/07), at 53 Tarentaal Road, Joostenberg Vlakte, Western Cape, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here.

Depending on what you do on the site, we collect:

• Orders: your name, phone number, email address, delivery area, street address, delivery notes, the items ordered and your payment method. We never collect card details; card and cash payments are taken on delivery, and EFT payments are made from your own bank.
• Water check: your answers (home or business, water source, household size or daily volume, TDS reading, delivery area, timeline), your contact details, your notes and your WhatsApp preference.
• Quote requests: the systems and quantities, your area, business name, contact details, notes and, if you upload one, a water lab report.
• Contact form: your name, email address or phone number and your message.
• Technical data: your IP address, used to limit abuse of our forms and by the measurement tools described below (see Measurement and advertising, and Cookies).

• To process, confirm and deliver your order, and to call or WhatsApp you within 24 hours to arrange delivery.
• To size a system for you and to answer your water check, quote request or message.
• To keep a record of orders and quotes for accounting, tax and warranty purposes.
• To pass your details to an independent installer, only when you ask us to.

We do not sell your information and we do not send marketing you have not asked for.

• Our hosting provider, which runs this website and the forms on it.
• Our email provider, which sends your confirmations and our notifications.
• Our order-management system, which stores orders, leads and quotes on our behalf.
• An independent installer in your area, only with your consent when you choose the installer option. Installers are separate businesses with their own privacy practices.
• A courier, when a system is sent by courier to a distant area.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

Each provider processes your information under our instructions and may not use it for its own purposes.

We use Google Ads conversion measurement to see which adverts lead to orders, water checks and WhatsApp enquiries, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used through anonymised usage statistics and session recordings. Personal fields in our forms (your name, phone number, email address, street address and notes) are masked, so they never appear in a recording.

These tools set cookies and process your IP address and browser details. We rely on our legitimate interest under POPIA in improving the site and our advertising; they are not used to identify you by name. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser at any time and the site keeps working.

Order and quote records are kept for seven years after the transaction, as the Companies Act requires for accounting records, and for as long as a warranty claim could arise. Water check and contact enquiries that do not become orders are kept for up to twelve months so we can follow up, then deleted. Uploaded lab reports are kept with the quote they belong to.

Forms are protected against automated abuse, uploads are checked server-side, order confirmation links use an unguessable token, and our providers encrypt data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it where we no longer need it, or to stop using it for a purpose you object to. Email admin@reverseosmosisshop.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time; we may ask you to confirm your identity first.

If you believe we have handled your information unlawfully, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): complaints.IR@justice.gov.za, or through the Regulator’s website at inforegulator.org.za.

We store your cart and your chosen delivery area in your browser so the site remembers them between visits; these are not shared with anyone.

The only other cookies are the measurement cookies described above (Google Ads and Microsoft Clarity). Blocking them in your browser keeps every feature of the site working.

We update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top.
